Top 5 sportswear brands you should follow on Twitter

We’ve reviewed the top five brand Twitter accounts that every brand ambassador should follow.  These are brands that have gone beyond social customer service (which every brand should be doing anyway), and are showing how they value their social media brand ambassadors.

1. adidas

Quick facts:

Followers: 56,422

Tweets: 608

Why you should follow them:  adidas is one of the few brands that uses the List function of its brand ambassadors.

2. Columbia Sportswear

Quick facts:

Followers: 42,859

Tweets: 5,997

Why you should follow them: Columbia tweets about new products, responds to fans and gives advice on outdoors activities. They use #tryingstuff to get their followers hyped about testing their gear in the outdoors.

3. KEEN

Quick facts:

Followers: 34,535

Tweets: 10,772

Why you should follow them:  KEEN rewards their brand ambassadors by tweeting #giveaway to let them know that they can be the first ones to try out new footwear.

4. Arc’teryx

Quick facts:

Followers: 23,382

Tweets: 8,997

Why you should follow them:  Arc’teryx is one of the few brands that has more tweets responding to their followers than tweets about new products.

5. Athleta

Quick facts:

Followers: 15,368

Tweets: 3,151

Why you should follow them:  Athleta breaks down their Twitter accounts by region. Based in the Bay Area? You should probably be following @AthletaSF as well to get updates on yoga and health in your region.
